Send and receive your store's emails using Gmail [NB]

You can configure your Gmail account to both receive your store's webmail and send outgoing email using your store's custom email address (for example: info@domain.com). This allows you to take advantage of Gmail's Inbox size and the Gmail interface, while still having your outgoing emails branded with your domain.

You need an active Gmail account to set this up. If you don’t have an account, you can sign up for one with Google here.

To set up your Gmail account

  1. Sign in to your Gmail account.
  2. Click on the cog icon in the top right-hand corner and click Settings:

  3. In Settings, select the Accounts tab and click Check mail from other accounts:

  4. A new window opens. Enter the email address you want to add and click Next Step.

  5. Add the username and password for your store's email account. To find this, log in to your Lightspeed eCom Back Office, go to Settings > Domain & Emails, and click the Emails button. Click the email address, and in the window that opens, click Show/Edit to view the password.

  6. Go back to your Gmail account and configure the settings as shown:
    • Username: Your store's email address
    • Password: The password associated with your email account
    • POP3 Server: mail.webshopapp.com
    • (Incoming) Port: 110

  7. Click Add Account.

  8. Click Next Step to configure your outgoing emails using the same email address.
  9. Enter your (shop) name and click Next Step.

  10. Enter the settings as shown below and click Add Account:
    • SMTP Server: mail.webshopapp.com
    • Username: Your store's email address
    • Password: The password associated with your email account
    • (Outgoing) Port: 465

  11. An email message containing a confirmation link will be sent to your store's email account.
  12. Since we’ve already set up Gmail to receive your store's emails, the message will be in your Gmail inbox. Open the corresponding email and click the confirmation link.

Your account is now verified. You can change your settings to use your store's email as your default email account.
