Creating your first blog

Gen up your customers on your newest products and/or provide them with useful tips through your own blog. You can create it using the back office. Blogs are a fun way to stay in touch with your target audiences and play an important role in the findability of your online store.

Creating a blog

Before you can post articles, you will have to create a blog first. This goes as follows:

  1. Click on SERVICES > Blogs in the left menu of the back office.
  2. Click on the green plus icon in the navigation at the top of the screen and assign a name to your blog.
  3. The edit page will display the following options:
    • URL - enter the location of your blog here.
    • Comments - indicate whether you allow comments to your blog here.
    • Title - enter the title of your blog here, as it will be shown to your customers.
    • Meta titel - The title that becomes the link in search engines
    • Meta descriptions - Enter the description of your blog here, as it should appear below the link in search results of search engines. Provide a clear and concisely-phrased text (with a maximum of 160 characters, including spaces), that invites people to visit your blog.
    • Keywords - Enter the search terms here by which you wish your blog to be found by search engines. You can use a maximum of 250 characters.

Your blog will now be visible in your web shop. You can create several blogs, for example if you wish to appeal to a variety of target audiences, or if your blogs have different purposes.

Custom-made code

If you have activated the Template Editor before adding the blog tool to your template, then you will have to manually add the blog tool code to your Template Editor. Enter one of the codes listed below in the right location in Custom.rain and Fixed.rain.

If you do not possess HTML knowledge, we recommend not to do this yourself!
