If you want to sell to other countries, you can add additional languages and currencies to your eCom store and determine what countries you'll accepting orders from.
Adding additional languages to your eCom store
Default language
The original default language was defined when you created your eCom store, based on your geographic location specified by your IP address.
Regardless of the default language, your eCom store's language will automatically switch according to a user's browser settings. If the browser language is English, the online store is automatically displayed in English if that language was activated in the Back Office.
Titles of products and other settings in your Back Office are displayed in the selected default language. Changing the default to a language that is missing translations will cause all product titles to read Needs translation. Only change the default language until after you've added translations for titles.
Additional languages
Depending on your eCom plan and your account settings, you can add one or more additional languages for your customers in your eCom store. If you choose more than one language, visitors can select a language by clicking the flag menu at the top of your eCom store.
The available eCom store languages are Danish, English, French, German, Greek, Italian, Norwegian, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Swedish and Turkish.
- In the Back Office, navigate to Settings > Store country.
- Click Add a language > select the new language > Add.
- New language are initially deactivated. This allows you time to enter the translations before making the changes live. Enter the translations for the new language including the product names and descriptions, text pages, category descriptions, and headlines.
- When ready, click Activate.
Domain name per language
You can only have one domain per eCom subscription. Your domain name is an important SEO factor. For example, in Germany, Google gives priority to .de domains in search results.
- Forward other domains to this domain. For example, forward your .de domain to your current .com domain. This is setup in your domain provider where your domain name is registered.
- Open an eCom store per country.
Adding multiple currencies
If multiple currencies are enabled in your store, they're displayed as an option at the top of your online store. When selected, the product prices are converted according to live exchange rates. Transactions will still take place in the default currency.
An eCom store can only have one default currency. Normally the default currency is based on the original location used when creating the eCom store. This can only be changed by the Support team.
To add a currency:
- In the Back Office, navigate to Settings > Store country.
- In the Currencies section, click Add a currency.
- Select a currency > Add.
To test:
- Click Back to Settings > Home.
- Click View store on the top-right side of the page.
- Look for the currency selector and change currencies. The location may depend on your theme's design. For example, in the Conform Plus theme, when Euros, Canadian dollars, and American dollars are enabled, the theme displays:
EUR/USD/CADin the top-left of every page.
Accepting orders from other countries
You can set which countries you will accept orders from so customers can select the country where they live. Countries that you do not accept orders from are not displayed.
If you do not select any countries, you will automatically receive orders worldwide.

- Click Change country selection.
- Select the countries you want to accept orders from.
- Click Save.
- Set up shipping methods for the newly added countries. Add HS codes to your products when using EasyPost or ShipStation.
