Adding product unit prices

A unit price is the price per item or measurement. Add a unit price to your products to help your customers compare products. For example, comparing two products sold by the roll is much easier with the unit price:

  • A 150 foot roll, 24 inches wide, $249.99. Unit price: $0.83/ square foot.
  • A 160 foot roll, 18 inches wide, $219.99.  Unit price: $0.92/ square foot.

Enable unit prices

  1. Login to your eCom Back Office and click Settings.
  2. Under the Store settings column, click Workflow.
  3. At the top of the screen enable the switch labeled Unit price.
  4. Click Save.

Add unit prices to a product 

Manually 

  1. Login to your eCom Back Office and click Products.
  2. Open a product's settings by clicking the product title.
  3. Scroll down to the INVENTORY & VARIANTS section and open a variant's settings by clicking on the variant title.
  4. In the PRICES section, add the variant's unit price in the field labeled Unit price.
  5. Select the variant's units of measurement from the dropdown menu labeled Unit measurement.
  6. Click Save.

Bulk action

  1. Login to your eCom Back Office and click Products.
    1. For variants of one product: Open the product settings by clicking the product title. Scroll down to the INVENTORY & VARIANTS section.
    2. For variants of many products: In the sidebar on the left hand side of the screen, click Inventory.
  2. Enable the checkboxes beside the variants you want to modify. For all variants on the page, enable the checkbox in the top left of the table.
  3. Click the item(s) selected button and click Edit.
  4. Enable the checkbox beside Unit price.
  5. Answer the question Are all the values the same by selecting either Yes or No from the dropdown menu.
  6. Click Next.
  7. Enter the unit prices and units of measurement for each variant on the screen.
  8. Click Save.

Import

When importing products, include columns called Unit_price and Unit. For each product add the unit price and one of the following units, exactly as written:

Acre, Are, Capsule, Carat, Centimeter, Cubic centiliter, Cubic centimeter, Cubic decameter, Cubic decimeter, Cubic feet, Cubic inch, Cubic meter, Cubic millimeter, Cubic Yard, Deciliter, Decimeter, Foot, Gallon, Gram, Hectares, Hectometer, Inch, Kilogram, Kilometer, Liter, Meter, Micrometer, Mile, Milligram, Milliliter, Millimeter, Ounce, Pair, Piece, Pound, Square centimeter, Square feet, Square kilometer, Square meter, Square mile, Square millimeter, Square yard, Stone, Tablet, Ton, Tones, Yard

Editing product unit price by importing

  1. Create a product export in Tools > Exports.
  2. Create a seperate import file that is different from your export file in Google Sheets or other spreadsheet software. Copy these column titles into your import file:
    Internal_ID Internal_Variant_ID XX_Title_Short Unit_price Unit
  3. Copy all the internal IDs and product titles from your product export and paste them in your import file. Add the unit price and the units for each product.
  4. Import the spreadsheet in Tools > Imports.

Setting unit price for new products

  1. Create an import file in Google Sheets or other spreadsheet software. You can add any columns you need, these are the minimum required columns:
    XX_Title_Short Unit_price Unit
  2. Import the spreadsheet in Tools > Imports.
