Managing user permissions

As an eCom store owner you can deny user account access, restrict access to back office settings, and prevent users from accessing product costs.

Denying access to the eCom back office

To deny user accounts access to back office:

  1. On the left menu click Settings.
  2. Click General settings > Users.
  3. Click the name of the user you want to deny access to.
  4. Select Denied from the status drop-down menu. 
  5. Click Save.

To deny user accounts access to back office at a future date:

  1. On the left menu click Settings.
  2. Click General settings > Users.
  3. Click the name of the user you want to deny access to.
  4. In the Expires field, enter the date the user's access will end. 
  5. Click Save.

To remove an expiration date from a user account:

  1. On the left menu click Settings.
  2. Click General settings > Users.
  3. Click the name of the user you want to remove the expiration date from.
  4. Select the Expires field.
  5. Press backspace to remove the expiration date. 
  6. Click Save.
If a user is having difficulty logging in, check the expiration date. You can choose to extend or remove expiration dates on user accounts you want to keep active. 

Restricting back office settings

  1. On the left menu click Settings.
  2. Click General SettingsUsers and click the name of the user you want to restrict.
  3. Disable Full account permissions.
  4. Check the permissions required based on the permissions granted.
  5. Click Save.

Restricting access to the cost of products

  1. Disable access for the financial back office settings by following the previous instructions.
  2. On the left menu of the Back Office click Settings > General Settings > Advanced
  3. Deactivate the Cost price switch.
  4. Click Save.

Permissions granted

These settings are granted for each permission type. All permissions grant access to the Home screen and Settings > Account:

  • Full permissions - All settings including the ability to install apps
  • Financial - Statistics, Apps > Purchased Apps, Settings > Billing Information, Your Subscription
  • Orders - Orders > all settings, Customers > All settings (except Import/Export)
  • Content - Content > all settings, Blogs > all settings, Settings > Notification emails
  • Settings - Settings > all settings
  • Products - Products - all settings (except import/Export), Tools > Files, Barcodes, Settings > Delivery timeframes and Additional costs
  • Import/Export - Tools > Import, Export
  • Design - Design - all settings except access to the Theme Store
  • Marketing - Marketing > all settings except Wish Lists
