Your newsletter subscribers should receive the option to subscribe during checkout or when they create their account on your eCom store. You can manually add subscribers as well. Read Creating newsletter mailing lists to learn how to export a subscriber list so it can be uploaded to your email platform.
When you add a subscriber, you have the option of sending an email to confirm they would like to subscribe. See Reviewing the email template for more information.
- In your eCom admin, go to Marketing > Newsletter.
- Select Add subscriber.
- Complete the form and select Save.
Making an existing customer a subscriber
You can also add an existing customer as a newsletter subscriber. Following this process will automatically confirm the subscriber as confirmed.
- In your eCom admin, go to Customers.
- Select the link in the name of a customer to edit.
- Select Edit.
- Scroll down to the EMAIL MARKETING section and enable the Customer subscribed to email marketing switch.
- Select Save.
Reviewing the email template
You can review the template being sent to ensure it's in your eCom store's tone and style. As outlined in Troubleshooting newsletter subscriptions, a confirm URL tag is required in the template.
- In your eCom admin, go to Settings.
- Select Notification emails, located in the Website settings column.
- Select Newsletter Double Opt In.
- Review the page and make edits if required.
- Select Save.
