Setting up and managing pickup orders

Integrate in-store or curbside pickup into your checkout process, offering a convenient experience with a pickup shipping method, customizable notification emails, and Pay at Pickup for flexible in-person payments. This ensures a smooth setup in your eCom admin and clear communication with customers.

Adding a pickup shipping method

If an in-store pickup shipping method already exists in your eCom admin, you do not need to add a new one.

  1. In your eCom admin, select Settings.
  2. Select Shipping methods, under Store Settings.

  3. Select Add manual shipping method.

  4. Choose In-store pickup.

    This setting can only be adjusted by deleting and recreating a manual shipping method.

  5. Click Continue.
  6. Enter a title for the shipping method, including translations if your store operates in multiple languages.
  7. Select Add shipping rate.
  8. Set the weight range for orders.
  9. Enter the pricing for in-store pickup. Set this to $0 for free pickup.
  10. Under Countries, select the locations where your physical stores are situated.
  11. Select Save.

Setting up in-store pickup

Once you have an in-store pickup method added, you should ensure that its settings are correct, and adjust the Ready for pickup email template to ensure your customers are informed when their order is ready.

  1. In your eCom admin, select Settings.
  2. Select Shipping methods, under Store Settings.

  3. Click on the name of the manual shipping method for pickup.

  4. Verify the details of the pickup method for pickup are correct.
  5. Select Save.
  6. Select Back to Settings in the sidebar.
  7. Select Notification Emails, under Website Settings.

  8. Select the Ready for pickup email template and adjust it to match your brand accordingly.
  9. Select Save.

Enabling pay at pickup

Pay at pickup allows customers to place orders online and pay at your physical location without capturing payment online. While these eCom orders are marked as paid in the back office, actual payment is collected in-store using the Retail POS system.

  1. When the customer arrives for their order, cancel it in eCom (C-Series).
  2. Recreate the order as a new sale in Retail (R-Series) and capture payment.

If the Pay at Pickup option isn't visible during checkout, ensure you have a shipping method set to "In-store pickup" for your manual shipping methods.
