Checkout strings are the default phrases in your eCom checkout, such as "Already have an account? Login." or "Forgot your password?". If you are using the new checkout, you can customize these strings and add translations for any language supported by eCom.
Note: If you are using the old checkout, you can modify your site text by following the instructions in this article instead.
Follow these steps to customize your checkout strings:
- In your eCom back office, navigate to Content > Translations.
- At the top of the Custom translations page, click the Add custom translation button. A pop-up will appear with a field for each language you have active for your online store.
- In the Translation key field, enter the English word or phrase as it appears in your store. Regardless of your store's default language, the Translation key must be in English.
- Enter your custom translations for any additional languages you have enabled for your online store.
We’ve created a table of 49 checkout strings and their corresponding English translations for your convenience. If your checkout’s default language is French, Dutch, or German, you can use the table below to locate the English translation for the checkout string’s Translation key.
Note that you must enclose a word or phrase in tags to create a link. For example, in the string "Already have an account? <0>Login.</0>" the word "Login." will now be linked.
