These settings are located in Settings > GENERAL SETTINGS > Advanced.
Sections:
Customer name and address
- Disabled, optional and required - Drag the fields that your customers to fill in when they create an account or complete checkout. Learn how to Adjust fields in the checkout and account creation form for more information.
- Email - Select Single to have customers enter their email once or Twice to enter the email more than once. Learn how to Increase email accuracy for more information.
- Tax ID - Change this setting to make a tax number appear in the account creation form and checkout. Learn how to Require a VAT number for more information.
Account and service
- Tickets and Contact form - Choose whether customers can contact you through tickets, through a Contact form or both. Learn about Activating customer contact methods.
- Allow Returns - Disable or enable purchase returns. Learn about Managing returns.
- Set Account password strength:
- Normal - All passwords are permitted.
- Strong - Passwords must contain a minimum of 1 digit.
- Strongest - Password must contain a minimum of 1 digit and 1 special character.
- Set a Feedback BCC E-mail - Sends your customer's order confirmation as a blank carbon copy (BCC) to email addresses listed in this field. Learn about Configuring new order notifications. Enter an email address to:
- Receive separate new order notifications that provide a summary of the order and the customer details.
- Provide Trusted Shops or Trustpilot with your customer's order details so they can facilitate customer reviews.
Store
- Show demobar - If enabled, a grey bar with the following text displays at the top of your online store: This store is under construction. Any placed orders will not be honored or fulfilled. It's one of the methods you can use to disable your eCom store.
- Cost Price - When enabled, only users with the relevant access rights can view the cost of products.
- Social login - Shows the Facebook login button when enabled. Disable it when setting up your cart.
- Related products - Shows related products in the cart when enabled. Disable it when setting up your cart.
- Discount code - Shows a discount code field in the cart when enabled. Disable it when setting up your cart.
- Calculate shipping costs - Shows a shipping calculator field in the cart when enabled. Disable it when setting up your cart.
- Newsletter - Shows a newsletter subscription checkbox on the last step of checkout. Disable it when setting up your checkout.
- Show progress - Shows a progress bar in checkout. Disable it when setting up your checkout.
- Show shopping cart - To disable the shopping cart, see Shopping cart below.
- HS code - Select this to enable configuring HS codes in the Identifiers section of product variants. Some international shipments require HS codes. After enabling HS codes, start adding HS codes to your products.
- Stay on this page - Enabling this option keeps customers on the product page when clicking Add to cart. Enable it when setting up your cart.
- Wish list - Allows customer wishlists. Disabling this switch may not completely remove wishlists from your theme. Read Removing wishlists for more information.
- Prices - Controls the visibility of prices in your eCom store. Read Hiding prices before adjusting this setting.
- Shopping cart - Controls how your customers can interact with the shopping cart. Settings include:
- Enabled - Shopping cart and checkout is allowed for all guests and registered customers.
- Disabled - Prevents all users from adding products to the shopping cart. Displays Checkout has been disabled on the home page and product pages. This option is useful when disabling your eCom store.
- Forced - Allows guests and registered customers to add products to the shopping cart. Prevents checkout for guests until they log in. When a guest clicks the checkout button, they are taken to the account login screen with the message Guest checkout has been disabled. Please log in first. Adjust this setting when controlling guest purchases.
- Registered customers only - Prevents guests from adding products to the shopping cart. Displays Guest checkout has been disabled. Please log in first on the home page and product pages. Limited to subscriptions that have the B2B feature set, this feature is useful when setting up B2B features. For more information on eCom subscriptions, click here.
- Legal mode - This option is primarily intended for the German market. Set it to Strict to comply with all legal requirements in Germany. Dutch online retailers with a Dutch online store can leave this option set to Normal.
- Checkout terms and conditions - Shows the visibility of a checkbox and a messageSelect Hide checkbox and message or Show message only to improve conversion. Review your government and payment provider's checkout requirements before making adjustments. If unsure, use the default setting labeled Show checkbox and message. Disable it when setting up your checkout.
- Minimum order amount - Prevents orders with totals lower than the amount entered. Read Adding a minimum order value before adjusting this setting.
- Show variants - The default setting With two or more variants hides the dropdown menu when a product only has one variant. Read Displaying only one size or color on the product page before adjusting this setting.
Registration
- Registration - Controls whether accounts can be created before purchases.
- Disabled - Helps prevent new accounts from being created. Adjust this setting when controlling guest purchases.
- Enabled - The default. Allows registration.
- Guest only - Removes the Log in or create an account portion of the checkout. Useful when simplifying checkout.
- After approval - Only allows customers access to their account after they're approved in the back office. This is a part of the business to business feature set.
- Address details - Controls whether your customers' address details are required when registering for an account. This setting doesn't affect your checkout. Adjust this setting when controlling the information your customers provide.
Loyalty
- Enable loyalty - Controls whether your customers can see Loyalty features in the cart and in their account. This switch appears only for subscribers of Loyalty. Read Setting up Loyalty for eCom before modifying this setting.
Reviews
- Email - Controls your customer's ability to submit anonymous reviews. Read Preventing anonymous reviews before modifying this setting.
Collection
- Layout - Specifies how product collections are displayed by default. The default Grid view displays a lot of information in a less space. List view is useful when your collections do not fill an entire page. Read Changing page layout from grid to list for more information.
- Sort by - Controls how products are sorted. Read Reordering products in a category before adjusting this setting.
- Products per page - Sets the number of products to display per page. Read Changing the number of products per page before adjusting this setting.
