Transferring your theme is part of the data transfer in your migration from your eCom (C-Series) store to your new eCom (E-Series) store. Theme transfers are currently only available for the Ignite and Conform Plus themes. If you do not use either of these themes, you can start from scratch with the default theme and apply it to your eCom store.
If you choose to transfer your C-Series theme, make sure you don't select a design template the first time you open the Instant Site designer. Instead, select Choose Later (button on the top right), otherwise your Ignite or Conform Plus theme will be overwritten.
What is transferred from your theme
- Header: logo and favicon
- Fonts: body and heading font (if available on eCom (E-Series)), body and heading font color, and button color
- Visual: background color, and header and footer background color
- Message bar: background color and text (no HTML formatting)
- Banners: image, banner title, subtitle, and button text
- General design settings: image aspect ratio, show or hide exact stock levels on product page
What is not transferred from your theme
The following items need to be manually updated:
- Navigation menu: menu items do not transfer and must be recreated manually. For information on how to set up your navigation menu, follow the Adding navigation menu steps on the eCom (E-Series) Help Center.
- URLs or buttons: existing URLs from eCom (C-Series) are no longer valid once transferred to eCom (E-Series). After your theme transfer, review the URLs for all buttons on your homepage and update them accordingly.
- Multilingual: once transferred to eCom (E-Series), only your default language is set up on your storefront. To set up a multilingual storefront and products on eCom (E-Series), refer to the eCom (E-Series) Help Center here.
- Design settings: design settings are transferred in eCom (E-Series) to resemble as close as possible to your initial storefront from eCom (C-Series). More design settings are available to you in eCom (E-Series), to explore and review them, refer to the eCom (E-Series) Help Center here.
